Christmas Celebrations

Leaving the cold, grey skies of Northern Europe, this was a sight to make the heart sing. Bright blue skies, warm days and a nip in the air at night. The perfect combination: Christmas baubles in over laden orange trees and an excuse to warm the cockles, with mulled wine and mince pies at night, if indeed any excuse were needed. As a Christmasaholic, I was so thrilled to see all the gorgeous Christmas decorations, some very sophisticated and designer, some gorgeously handmade and some deliciously tacky, just how it should be in my view! One could even smell the scent of pine as one drove around the Island, something that has been sadly lacking, since the advent of the big tar roads. Wonderful celebratory markets were to be enjoyed, including the Aioli makers and that is something not to be missed. A lot more was open too, so one could enjoy a variety of restaurants, shop til one dropped or just waft around. Roast Turkey and all the trimmings on the beach, in a tiny bay - not to be sniffed at! A perfect recharge, before the mayhem of a family Christmas. Thank you Ibiza
